We visited Athens in August 2020. At that time, the number of tourists was very low due to the pandemic.
Normally I would not really want to go to a highly touristic place like Acropolis of Athens, but with the low number of tourists, we went for it.
It was quite interesting to see the buildings that are still there, but honestly, we were a bit disappointed with the amount of rubbles.
Most of Acropolis is just rubbles, but it is impressive to see very large buildings built 2400 years ago.
I recommend visiting Acropolis out of season. I have heard that it gets overcrowded at times so to really take in the feats of the ancient Greeks it’s best to go when it’s not filled with tourists.
